England cricketer Jacob Bethell details his three-month injury layoff, innovative recovery techniques, and his ambition to rejoin the Ashes campaign.
England cricketer Jacob Bethell is nearing a return to the field after a three-month injury layoff, during which he underwent unusual recovery methods and is now focused on regaining his place in the Ashes squad.
Bethell's absence from the game saw him sidelined with an injury that required a significant recovery period. During this time, he employed unconventional methods to aid his rehabilitation. One notable outcome of these methods was an increase in his leg length by 2cm, a development he described as unusual.
Reflecting on his return to Edgbaston, the venue of a past impressive innings, Bethell expressed his adaptability regarding his batting position in the team's lineup. "I don't really know how the batting order is going to be structured, but again, what I'll go back to is that I'm adaptable. I'll bat wherever," he stated.
Bethell aims to build on his previous performances, highlighting a desire for greater consistency. "The goal I've got going forward is just to do that more consistently. I've shown great glimpses of what I can do, and I feel like I can give a lot more in terms of the consistency department," he said.
He added his ambition to convert good starts into significant scores. "I know once I get a good start, I can go on and make big scores and I am only looking to add to that tally of hundreds now," Bethell told Daily Mail Sport's Richard Gibson.
