Jackson's Brace Lifts Aston Villa Over Manchester City

Nicolas Jackson scored a match-winning brace to lead Aston Villa to victory over Manchester City, continuing his strong early form for the club. The win on Saturday also marked the fourth anniversary of Unai Emery's appointment as Villa manager.

Under Emery's leadership, Aston Villa has become a consistent presence in the upper echelons of the Premier League and a regular participant in European competitions. The team also ended a 30-year wait for a major trophy by winning the Europa League.

Former Scotland defender Rachel Corsie, who previously played for Aston Villa, described Emery as a unique coach. "He's quite unique. A lot of coaches will focus on the tactical detail, but he's so intense with it," Corsie told BBC Radio 5 Live. She noted his dedication, stating his car was often at the training ground, indicating an "incredible amount of time" spent honing details. Corsie added, "He never gets tired of trying to better people individually and that takes an incredible amount of work. So many players come here, improve and thrive."

Jackson has prior experience playing under Emery, having been coached by him at Villarreal. He spent three years at the Spanish club before his transfer to Chelsea for £35 million.

Emery commented on Jackson's potential, telling BBC Match of the Day, "I knew him at Villarreal and he started playing the level he is now. I know his capacity to exploit his qualities and I know, as well, his humility. The mentality is coming through - how focused he is in life and professional career."

Speaking to TNT Sports, Jackson expressed his positive integration into the team. "It's not easy [to settle at a new club] but easier because of the coach and the players. It's an incredible dressing room with an incredible manager. I'm very happy to be here and hopefully I will score many goals."
