Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase experienced a moment of concern during practice Tuesday when he sustained a left knee injury. The star receiver, however, indicated the issue was minor and does not anticipate it keeping him off the field.
"Just a football play. A misstep, missed my footing. Just a little tweak," Chase told reporters after practice. "I’m fine. Feel good."
Chase was engaged in a deep route down the sideline when he appeared to hyperextend his left knee. He limped off the field and briefly went to the ground, prompting concern from the team. He remained on the sideline, observing the remainder of practice, before offering a positive update.
Chase told ESPN 1530 Cincinnati that if a game were scheduled for the following day, he would be ready to play and had attempted to return to practice. The Bengals are approaching the regular season with their key offensive weapon.
Chase, a five-time Pro Bowler, remains a central figure in the Bengals' passing offense, alongside quarterback Joe Burrow. In the 2025 season, he recorded 125 receptions for 1,412 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, earning first-team All-Pro honors for the second consecutive year.
The Bengals are scheduled to open their regular season on September 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cincinnati will play their final preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, with starters expected to participate.
