Isak Withdraws from Sweden Duty With Injury Concern

Liverpool forward Alexander Isak has been forced to withdraw from international duty with Sweden after sustaining an injury during his nation's recent victory over Romania. The striker will now undergo assessment by Liverpool's medical staff at the AXA Training Centre.

Isak scored in Sweden's 2-1 win on Friday but was seen with a blood-soaked sock afterward, reportedly due to a "heavy stamp" during a challenge. While Isak initially downplayed the injury, stating "it was okay" after the pain subsided, the concern for Liverpool is heightened given his previous injury struggles.

Last season, the £125 million record signing suffered a broken leg in December following a challenge by Tottenham's Micky van de Ven. That injury sidelined him for months, causing him to miss 30 matches for club and country and significantly impacting his debut season, during which he scored just four goals in all competitions.

This season, however, Isak has started in strong form, netting four goals in five Premier League appearances. He has scored in the draw against Nottingham Forest, scored twice in the win over Ipswich, and netted the lone goal in the victory against Bournemouth, marking his best-ever start to a Premier League campaign.
