The NTT IndyCar Series is set to launch its first standalone video game in more than 20 years, with "IndyCar Racing The Game" scheduled for release in early 2027. Developed by iRacing Studios, the game aims to capture the speed and excitement of the racing series.
"IndyCar features the most competitive and action-packed racing on the planet, challenging drivers at every turn with incredible speeds and demanding layouts," IndyCar Chief Marketing Officer Alex Damron stated. "Our new video game is going to capture the energy and drama of our sport with hyperrealism, bringing our series to a new generation of gamers. Partnering with iRacing — the gold standard in racing simulation — ensures this will be a truly special new chapter in our gaming history. We can't wait for fans to get behind the wheel."
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Further details regarding game modes and pre-order information are expected to be released in the future.
The previous standalone video game for the series was "IndyCar Series 2005." The upcoming release in early 2027 will precede the 111th Running of the Indianapolis 500.
