Indiana Fever Oust GM Amber Cox Hours After President's Resignation

The Indiana Fever has parted ways with General Manager Amber Cox, a significant shake-up in the team's front office that follows the resignation of team president Kelly Krauskopf. Cox's dismissal comes just hours after Krauskopf announced her departure.

The Fever's playoff run concluded in the first round with a 2-1 series loss to the defending champion Las Vegas Aces. This marks a decline from the previous season, when the team reached the semifinals, also falling to the Aces, but in five games.

Despite injuries, including limited appearances by star guard Caitlin Clark in 2025, the Fever achieved a 28-16 record this past season. Their offense, led by Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, was among the league's best, finishing first in offensive efficiency. However, the team's defense struggled, ranking eighth out of 15 teams and last among playoff qualifiers.

Several key players are also facing uncertain futures with the team heading into free agency. Kelsey Mitchell, who averaged a team-high 24.7 points per game and shot 45 percent from three-point range, is a notable free agent. Tyasha Harris, Sophie Cunningham, and Myisha Hines-Allen are also among the players set to hit free agency. Mitchell has previously spoken about the challenges of playing for the Fever in recent years.

Brianna Turner, a forward who played for the Fever in 2025 and has had past disputes with the front office, alluded to the front-office changes on social media, posting, "What’s done in the dark will always come to light."
