Indi Hartwell Captures TNA Knockouts Championship at Bound for Glory

Indi Hartwell has reclaimed the top spot in women's professional wrestling, capturing the TNA Knockouts Championship for the first time in her career at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view event. Hartwell secured the victory over the reigning champion, Xia Brookside.

This championship win marks a significant milestone for Hartwell, who previously held the WWE NXT Women's Championship before being drafted to the Raw brand, which led to her relinquishing the title. Her path back to a major women's division championship involved a series of challenging matches in TNA.

Hartwell narrowly missed out on TNA gold earlier when she was eliminated in the semifinals of the Knockouts TV Championship Tournament. However, she persisted, achieving a tag team title win with Harley Hudson and securing a disqualification victory against Zoey Serrano.

A backstage incident involving Daria Rae, who slapped Hartwell, ultimately led to her receiving a direct shot at the Knockouts Championship against Brookside. Both competitors emphasized a commitment to the "right way" in their pre-match promotions.

During the match, Brookside's frustration boiled over, leading her to twice slap the special guest referee, Mickie James. In the ensuing confusion, Hartwell capitalized, executing her signature "Hurts Donut" move to secure the pinfall and the championship.

Brookside's reign as champion concludes after 105 days, having initially won the title from Lei Ying Lee. Hartwell becomes the fourth Knockouts Champion in TNA this year, following Brookside, Lee, and Arianna Grace.
