Amy Hunt claimed a second-place finish in the women's 200-meter race at the Diamond League meet in Lausanne, Switzerland. Hunt crossed the finish line with a time of 22.32 seconds, narrowly outpacing Nigeria's Favour Ofili in a close finish.
American sprinter Kayla White won the event, clocking in at 22.18 seconds. Notably, former world champion Shericka Jackson withdrew from the race after pulling up with a leg injury during the race, and two-time Diamond League champion Brittany Brown did not participate.
The Lausanne event marks another significant achievement for Hunt, coming just a week after her dominant performance at the European Championships in Birmingham. There, she secured four gold medals, winning the 100m, 200m, women's 4x100m relay, and mixed 4x100m relay. This accomplishment made her the first athlete to achieve four gold medals in a single edition of the European Championships.
The Diamond League season continues with upcoming meetings in Silesia, Poland, on Sunday, August 23, and Zurich, Switzerland, on Thursday, August 27. The season will conclude with the final meet in Brussels, Belgium, on the weekend of September 4 and 5.
