Horley Stars as Middlesex Clinch One Day Cup League Two Title

Middlesex secured the One Day Cup League Two title by defeating Glamorgan in Bristol, with a standout performance from Saskia Horley. Horley scored a century and took four crucial wickets to guide her team to victory.

Middlesex began their innings strongly, with opener Artemis Downer contributing early runs before being caught at point. Izzy Routledge and Sproul then forged a 60-run partnership, providing stability. Sproul went on to score 43 runs from 67 balls before being caught and bowled. Despite some dropped catches and a missed stumping from Glamorgan's fielding, Middlesex capitalized. Horley and Trussler established a significant 131-run partnership, which ended when Trussler was stumped off Eve Jackson's bowling. Horley's innings concluded at 117, setting a challenging target of 279 for Glamorgan.

In their pursuit of the target, Glamorgan struggled. Influential captain Lauren Parfitt was dismissed early for eight, bowled by Siya Nanavati. Daisy Jeanes was the next to fall, caught at mid-wicket off Issy Routledge. A 72-run partnership between Abbey Freeborn and Gammon offered a glimmer of hope for Glamorgan. However, Freeborn was bowled for 43 by Anaya Patel. Hannah Davis then took two quick wickets, including that of Gammon, who was caught in the deep for 58, effectively extinguishing Glamorgan's chances of a comeback. Horley sealed the victory by taking the final wicket, having Gemma Porter caught by Trussler.
