Hearts secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Dundee at Tynecastle on Saturday, with Sabah Kerjota netting a late winner. The win marked Hearts' fourth consecutive league victory and moved them to second in the table. However, the match was marred by several injuries for Dundee and a late red card for their player Zan Besir.
Dundee took the lead in the 17th minute through Bradley Fink's composed chip over the advancing goalkeeper Beau Reus. The visitors held their advantage into halftime, despite Hearts' efforts to find an equalizer. Dundee's lead was deserved, as they played with spirit and composure for the opening 45 minutes.
The momentum shifted in the second half after a VAR intervention. In the 84th minute, Andrew Dallas identified a handball by Owen Bevan in the box, leading to a penalty. Claudio Braga converted the spot-kick to level the score.
Dundee's challenges were compounded by injuries to Joe Westley, Ryan Finnigan, and Finlay Robertson. Westley had to be stretchered off early in the match. Finnigan injured himself while committing a foul, and Robertson was also stretchered off later in the second half. The dismissal of Zan Besir in stoppage time further hampered Dundee's chances of securing a point.
In the 96th minute, following a short corner, Sabah Kerjota found the back of the net from just inside the box for his first goal for Hearts, sealing the 2-1 victory. The late goal was a blow to Dundee, who had defended resolutely for much of the match.
Dundee manager Steven Pressley will be looking to regroup his squad during the upcoming break, as his side has taken only one point from their last three matches since their Tayside derby win.
