Promoter Eddie Hearn has stated that the proposed boxing match between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is contractually secured and cannot be canceled. Hearn, who represents Joshua, dismissed recent comments from Fury suggesting the fight was unlikely to proceed.

"We've signed the contract, we're waiting for a date," Hearn told DAZN. "The fight's signed. No-one can pull out of the fight. You can't just pull out of a contract. There's no suggestion that the fight's not happening, no-one can stop this fight from happening. The only way it can stop from happening is if they actually breach the contract."

The bout had been anticipated for November and was positioned as one of the most significant fights in British boxing history. Both Joshua and his promoter Hearn have agreed to terms for the event to be held in the United Kingdom. However, Saudi organizers Sela, who have separate contracts with both fighters, are advocating for the fight to take place in the United States, potentially at Madison Square Garden in New York. This location is favored by Sela to allow for broadcast on Netflix to reach American audiences.

"We know everybody and his dog involved in the fight wants to do the fight in America. We don't," Hearn added. "We've told Sela and the team 'if you want to do it in America, these are the terms that we can move forward with. But we'd rather not please'."
