Kai Havertz has issued a call for Arsenal to further enhance their performance and strategy to successfully defend their Premier League title. The German international highlighted the substantial investments made by rival clubs during the summer transfer window, emphasizing the necessity for Arsenal to elevate their game to avoid being outpaced.

"I think we can and have to go further," Havertz stated. "You see other teams getting better so we have to step up another level again. That’s what we are all here for, that’s what we train for, play those test (pre-season) games and reach our goals this season again."

Arsenal, who secured the Premier League title in May, have been active in the transfer market but are reportedly still pursuing major signings. The club has brought in winger Christos Tzolis for £34 million. Reports indicate that Bruno Guimaraes is expected to undergo his medical on Monday, and Arsenal are also linked with a move for Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior, whose contract is set to expire next summer.

Havertz acknowledged the heightened competition, stating his awareness of the significant spending by other top clubs. The midfielder expressed a desire to build upon last season's success, recalling the team's previous three consecutive finishes as league runners-up. "I think we want all the trophies," he added. "That's what we're here for. We missed out on a lot the last couple of seasons. Obviously, we won the Premier League now, but there's a lot more that we can do."

He concluded by reiterating the team's ambition and the effort required for sustained success. "We have to reach another level to make that happen. We know how long the season is, we know how hard it is to go through the competitions. We want to do better again this year and make things happen again."
