Harry Kane Signs New Contract with Bayern Munich Through 2029

England captain Harry Kane has verbally agreed to a new contract with Bayern Munich, keeping him at the German club until 2029. The striker, who joined Bayern in 2023 from Tottenham for £100 million, was in the final year of his initial four-year deal.

Kane is currently enjoying a prolific year, having scored 50 goals so far in the current calendar year. His performance has placed him as a front-runner for the Ballon d'Or. Several clubs, including Barcelona, had reportedly been monitoring his contract situation, with Kane expressing a desire to finalize his future following the recent summer tournament.

The new agreement, if finalized as reported, would mean Kane remains with Bayern until he is 36 years old. The club is reportedly preparing the necessary paperwork to make the extension official.

Prior to this agreement, both Kane and Bayern had indicated a lack of urgency regarding his contract. In May, Kane stated, "It's not the time to talk about that now, but there's no panic. We wanted to hold conversations until the end of the season and we've got a World Cup still to play. But everyone knows how much I enjoy it here. That situation is calm."

Reports suggest Kane's current salary is approximately £400,000 per week in Germany, with no immediate indication of a pay increase accompanying the new deal.
