Harry Kane Celebrates Ballon d'Or With Bayern Munich Presentation, Misses Penalty in Draw

Harry Kane was honored by Bayern Munich with a special presentation of his Ballon d'Or trophy before the team's match against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Kane, who became the first English player to win the award since Michael Owen in 2001, received a standing ovation from fans and a welcome from his family, including his wife Kate and four children.

Kane addressed the home crowd, expressing his pride in playing for Bayern Munich and thanking supporters for their incredible backing since his arrival. He stated his hope to win many more titles with the club and concluded his remarks in German with "Danke!"

His successful year included a staggering 73 goals during the 2025-26 season, which helped Bayern Munich secure a domestic Treble. Kane also captained England to a third-place finish at the World Cup.

Despite the celebratory atmosphere, Kane's on-field return saw him miss a penalty kick during the match against Dortmund. Bayern Munich took an early lead through Konrad Laimer, but Serhou Guirassy equalized for Dortmund. Kane later assisted Dayot Upemecano to put Bayern back in front, only for former Wolves player Fabio Silva to score a late equalizer for Dortmund in the 89th minute, resulting in a 2-2 draw.

Following his Ballon d'Or win on Monday, Kane had previously paid tribute to his Bayern teammates and staff, acknowledging their role in his success and his personal and professional growth since joining the club.
