Harry Kane has set a new Bundesliga record, becoming the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the German league. The England captain achieved this milestone in 98 appearances for Bayern Munich, surpassing the previous record holder by 31 games.
Kane's 100th goal came via a penalty against Union Berlin on Friday night. The previous record was held by German legend Dieter Muller, who took 129 matches to reach the same figure for FC Cologne in 1977.
This latest record follows another notable achievement for Kane, who recently became the fastest player to score 150 goals for Bayern Munich, accomplishing this in 153 games. Only Cristiano Ronaldo has reached 150 goals for a single club faster, taking 149 games for Real Madrid.
Kane's scoring rate in the Bundesliga is currently averaging a goal every 78.5 minutes, a pace that exceeds that of notable strikers Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski.
