Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh offered a defense of quarterback Justin Herbert following critical comments made by Rams safety Quentin Lake. Lake, speaking on the "St. Brown Podcast," suggested Herbert was "throwing deli meat out there" and "seeing ghosts" during their recent game.

"Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. That’s not what I see," Harbaugh stated when asked about Lake's remarks. The specific play in question occurred in the first quarter of the Chargers' 24-9 loss to the Rams, when Lake intercepted Herbert.

This interception was the first of two for Herbert in the game, with Trent McDuffie also picking off a pass late in the third quarter. The Chargers failed to score a touchdown for the second consecutive week.

When questioned about Herbert's two-interception performance, Harbaugh acknowledged that the quarterback would likely want to revisit a couple of throws. "I thought this past game, he did his job exceptionally well; two throws he would’ve liked to have had back," Harbaugh said.

Through seven games this season, Herbert has thrown an interception in every contest, accumulating 10 picks overall.

Harbaugh also addressed the team's offensive struggles, particularly their inability to score touchdowns. "We’re hell-bent on winning this game. Putting ourselves in a position to do that by preparing today," Harbaugh said. "Looking back, we’re pressing forward."
