Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is continuing his Mediterranean vacation, recently staying at the historic Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc on the French Riviera. The five-star hotel has previously hosted notable figures such as Pablo Picasso and Ernest Hemingway.

Haaland, accompanied by his brother Astor and friends, was observed leaving the hotel for a potential boating excursion. The 26-year-old Norwegian forward wore casual attire during his stay. This trip follows a period of celebrations and travel for Haaland since leading Norway to the World Cup quarterfinals.

Earlier in his break, Haaland attended teammate Gianluigi Donnarumma's wedding in Southern Italy, where he was seen with his partner Isabel Haugseng Johansen. He was later filmed recreating Norway's signature 'rowing' celebration with wedding guests. Prior to the wedding, Haaland celebrated his birthday in Sardinia, posting an image of himself wearing a Viking helmet. "26 years," he wrote on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Haaland's performance at the World Cup has had an unexpected impact in Peru, where over 500 babies have been named in his honor. According to Peru's national registry, 468 newborns were named Haaland and 91 were named Erling Haaland. The full name Erling Braut Haaland was given to four infants.

"Different football stars serve as inspiration for Peruvians to register their children with these names," Ivan Torres, a spokesperson for the country's national registry, told Panamericana TV. He added that the number of registrations increased as Norway progressed in the tournament. Despite the surge, Haaland's name is not as popular for newborns in Peru as Brazil's Neymar, who inspired 33,812 baby names.

Haaland's extended off-season is nearing its end. He was permitted to miss Manchester City's Asian tour but is expected to rejoin the team in preparation for the Community Shield match against Arsenal on August 16.
