Gymnast Ruby Evans has earned Wales' first gold medal of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, winning the floor final. The 19-year-old's performance secured the top spot, with England's Abigail Martin taking silver and Shantae-Eve Amankwaah of England claiming bronze.
Evans experienced disappointment earlier in the competition, finishing sixth in the all-round individual competition and fourth in the team event. Her gold medal win on the floor marks a significant turnaround.
The victory adds to Wales' medal tally, which now stands at nine, including two silver and six bronze medals. Identical twins Abigail and Emily Roper contributed bronze medals within a few hours of each other on Monday.
Boxer Connor Williams has also guaranteed a podium finish for Wales by reaching the semi-finals.
