The Golden State Valkyries have won the WNBA Championship, defeating the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in a decisive Game 7 on Saturday night. This marks the franchise's first title in only their second season of existence, establishing them as a new power in the league.
Gabby Williams led the Valkyries with a commanding 30 points in the Game 7 thriller. The Atlanta Dream, meanwhile, continues to search for their first WNBA championship.
The championship victory solidifies the Valkyries' rapid ascent in the WNBA. Their success in just their second year contrasts with the Dream's ongoing quest for a title.
