Giants Secure Upset Victory Over Texans in Week 7

The New York Giants secured a significant upset victory over the Houston Texans in Week 7, triumphing 27-21 in overtime. The Giants entered the matchup as considerable underdogs, with the Texans favored by 10.5 points despite the Giants holding a better regular-season record at 3-2-1 compared to the Texans' 2-4.

The Giants established an early lead and never relinquished it throughout the game. This win marks their fourth of the season, matching their total from the entire 2025 season, as they head into their bye week with a 4-2-1 record.

A key factor in the victory was a cohesive offensive performance that significantly supported new starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The offensive line, including tackles Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor, performed strongly against the Texans' edge rushers. The team achieved its best rushing output of the season, accumulating 188 yards. Running back Cam Skattebo led the ground game with 17 carries for 124 yards, and Devin Singletary sealed the win with a 30-yard touchdown run in overtime.

McCarthy appeared comfortable leading the offense, benefiting from a balanced attack and effective play-calling from coordinator Matt Nagy. The offensive unit's stepped-up performance allowed McCarthy, who has been with the team for less than a month, to operate effectively with his new teammates.
