Giants Release Najee Harris After Comments on Role

The New York Giants have released running back Najee Harris, a move that follows his public comments regarding his limited role in the team's recent game. The decision came just two days after Giants head coach John Harbaugh had benched Cam Skattebo, seemingly paving the way for Harris to take a more prominent position.

Harris, who was the first running back on the field for the Giants' 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, received only four carries for a total of 2 yards. Following the game, Harris expressed frustration with his lack of touches, telling reporters that it was difficult to establish a rhythm with minimal opportunities.

"It’s hard to get into a rhythm with one or two runs," Harris stated.

Harbaugh addressed the team's offensive struggles after the loss, noting a lack of decisive action from the running backs. "Nobody has really taken the bull by the horns," he said.

With Harris now off the roster, the Giants' remaining running backs include Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy Jr., and Devin Singletary.
