Giants Quarterback Jaxson Dart Suffers Knee Injury Against Rams

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sustained a left knee injury during the opening series of Monday Night Football against the Los Angeles Rams. The injury occurred on a hit that appeared to bend Dart's knee in an unnatural way. He was seen clutching his knee after the play and was taken to the team's medical tent for evaluation.

Dart, in his second NFL season, limped off the field under his own power and was later escorted to the locker room. Backup quarterback Jameis Winston entered the game in Dart's absence. While both players are officially questionable to return, Dart's departure is considered unlikely to be temporary.

Another Giants player, receiver Malik Nabers, also experienced a scare when he left the game clutching his right shoulder after an incomplete pass. Nabers did, however, return to the game after missing a series.

An NFL source indicated that Dart may have suffered an MCL issue. If confirmed, this injury would likely not require surgery but would result in missed playing time. The fact that Dart's leg was not planted on the turf when hit has lessened concerns about a season-ending ACL tear, though the precise nature of the injury is still under evaluation.
