Giants QB Jaxson Dart Suffers Knee Injury in Loss to Rams
Quarterback Jaxson Dart left the game against the Los Angeles Rams with a left knee injury, forcing a backup into action and casting a shadow over the Giants' performance.
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart sustained a left knee injury during the first quarter of Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams, an injury that ultimately led to his departure from the contest. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. ET, approximately 11:20 remaining in the first quarter, when Dart was hit high by Byron Young and low by Josaiah Stewart on a third-down incompletion.
Dart was seen clutching his left knee before limping off the field and heading to the medical tent. He subsequently hobbled to the locker room, where ESPN cameras captured him boarding a cart to undergo X-rays. He was initially listed as questionable to return but did not re-enter the game. Backup quarterback Jameis Winston took over for the Giants following Dart's injury.
The injury cast a somber mood over the Giants' sideline, with coach John Harbaugh reportedly appearing visibly distressed. The event marked a disappointing turn for the team, which had hoped for a strong showing in Hollywood.
