James Nicholas, a 29-year-old golfer from Westchester, is competing in his first British Open this week. Nicholas, who has embraced a professional golf future, acknowledged that golf was not his primary sport growing up and, by his own admission, still isn't his best.
Nicholas insists hockey remains his favorite sport, but the paths taken can define careers, and his has led him to the links of the British Open. The golfer is now fully dedicated to his professional golf aspirations.
