A Legacy of Leadership and Kindness
A proud native of Delano, Garza played for the Sacramento State Hornets after graduating from Robert F. Kennedy High School. During his time at Kennedy High, he helped lead the team to a Central Section Championship. At Sacramento State, he earned All-Big Sky honors.
His family described Garza as a person with a significant presence both on and off the football field. A GoFundMe tribute stated he would be remembered as "a gentle giant with a kind heart, an infectious smile, and a genuine love for his family, friends, teammates, and everyone fortunate enough to know him."
Robert F. Kennedy High School also shared a tribute on Facebook, acknowledging Garza's impact: "The Thunderbird Family lost a young man too soon. His heart was as huge as his size. Rest easy young man, you are at peace."
Garza's cousin remembered him on social media as the "light in every room" she encountered, possessing one of the "biggest, kindest hearts" she had ever known.
His sudden death has left his mother, Sandra, and their entire family with profound grief and facing unexpected funeral expenses.
