Liga Mexicana de Béisbol (LMB) has indefinitely suspended former Houston Astros prospect Danry Vásquez following a violent brawl during a game on Sunday.

The incident occurred in the bottom of the fourth inning when Vásquez, playing for the Toros de Tijuana, was tagged out during a rundown against the Acereros de Monclova. In response, Vásquez threw a right hook, striking Monclova third baseman Rodolfo Amador in the face. This initiated a full benches-clearing brawl.

As Amador fell to the ground, Vásquez proceeded to kick him in the back of the head. The league issued a statement Monday condemning the aggression and stating that such actions are incompatible with the LMB's values of fair play and respect. The league also emphasized that the behavior endangers the physical integrity and careers of fellow professionals.

During the ensuing chaos, Monclova first baseman Ryan Hernandez intervened and reportedly broke his arm after being punched by Vásquez. Hernandez was taken off the field in an ambulance.

Umpires eventually broke up the fight, which involved multiple players throwing punches and kicks. Vásquez, Hernandez, Toros pitcher Adonis Medina, and Monclova second baseman Jecksson Flores were all ejected from the game.

This is not Vásquez's first encounter with legal trouble. Ten years ago, while playing in the Astros' minor league system, he was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury of a family member for an incident involving his then-girlfriend in Texas. The charge was later dropped after Vásquez completed community service and paid a fine. He has since played for five different teams in the Mexican League.
