Austrian football club FK Austria Wien has launched its new third kit with a distinctive two-minute video that has garnered attention from fans. The video begins with the on-screen text "Love takes many forms," as couples are shown in what appears to be a club changing room.
The narrative continues with messages about connection: "A kiss. A feeling. A moment. It brings people together. It connects generations. It creates memories." This is followed by "Five stories and a jersey," suggesting a personal interpretation of the kit.
The club stated that the kit is "Inspired by a sense of connection."
The video features three couples and two sets of family members who speak in German. Each pair watches a screen revealing the new crimson third kit. The family members share hugs, while the romantic couples embrace with kisses, with footage shared throughout the video and in accompanying images.
FK Austria Wien explained that "Together with our partner Macron, we are unveiling the new art-inspired kit. Inspired by the iconic patterns from Gustav Klimt's 'The Kiss,' the crimson third kit draws on the characteristic forms of this world-famous work of art."
The club highlighted a shared "deeply Viennese sense of aesthetics" with the artist, emphasizing craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a willingness to forge their own path. The jersey is initially available in 1,000 limited-edition boxes starting Friday at noon online and in the fan shop.
Both the men's and women's teams are scheduled to wear the new kit on Saturday during a Cup double-header in Traiskirchen. The club reiterated the theme, stating, "Love takes many forms. A kiss. A feeling. A moment. It brings people together. It bridges generations. It creates memories. Five stories and a jersey that inspires you to create your own interpretation."
