As NFL training camps approach, wide receiver Stefon Diggs remains unsigned. However, multiple teams have expressed interest in acquiring him, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Fowler reported on Monday’s episode of “NFL Live” that at least five teams in need of receiving talent are checking in on Diggs, though they will need to address the “baggage and the headlines” associated with him.

The Commanders and Ravens were mentioned as two franchises seeking to bolster their wide receiver corps. The "baggage" primarily refers to a civil case in which Diggs is accused of drugging and sexual assault in 2023. Diggs has denied these allegations. The accuser, Christopher Griffith, has submitted court documents including over 100 pages of messages that he contends support his claims.

This is not the first legal challenge for Diggs. Earlier this year, he was found not guilty of felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault and battery charges stemming from accusations by his former personal chef.

The New England Patriots released Diggs in March at the start of the new league year. His release was largely driven by financial considerations, as an additional $6 million of his contract was set to become fully guaranteed. Diggs’ three-year, $63.5 million deal with the Patriots was structured with increasing cap hits in its later years.

During his single season with New England, Diggs recorded 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. He also played a role in the team’s Super Bowl appearance.

Other notable wide receivers still available on the free agent market include Tyreek Hill, Deebo Samuel, and DeAndre Hopkins. Diggs recently asserted in a YouTube video that no other wide receiver in the league surpasses his abilities.
