This Sunday, Spain and Argentina will compete for the FIFA World Cup trophy at New York New Jersey Stadium, a match that will also mark the introduction of Super Bowl-style championship rings for the winning team. FIFA announced Friday that it will present custom rings to the World Cup victors, a tradition previously unseen in the sport's history.

In addition to the rings for players and coaches, FIFA will make 2,026 rings available, with 1,996 intended for sale to the public. This offering allows fans the opportunity to own a piece of World Cup memorabilia.

The winning team's rings will feature the World Cup Trophy on one side and be customized for the specific team on the other. The coach and team captain will receive temporary rings immediately following the match, with official, custom-sized rings and certificates of authenticity to be delivered later.

The final is set to take place on natural grass at the stadium, also known as MetLife Stadium. The final match-up pits Argentina against Spain, with anticipation high for the historic presentation of championship rings alongside the coveted World Cup trophy.
