Attending a FIFA World Cup match in the United States could lead to sticker shock for fans hoping to purchase concessions, according to a recent analysis by Casino.org. The survey ranked host stadiums based on the cost of typical game-day food and drink items, revealing that some U.S. venues charge exorbitant prices, with an average matchday bill potentially reaching $110 in Miami.
Miami's Hard Rock Stadium, referred to as Miami Stadium for the tournament, was identified as the most expensive venue, with an average fan spending $110 on a meal, signature dish, domestic beer, snack, and water. This figure is notably driven by items such as $75 tater tots and $27 cocktails. Other high-cost locations include Boston's Gillette Stadium ($78), which features a $39 lobster roll, and Kansas City's stadium ($73.12), with beers priced at $18.39.
Prices have seen a dramatic increase since the 2014 World Cup. Casino.org's analysis indicates that the average matchday concession bill has risen from $6.56 in 2014 to $38.51 in 2026, marking a 487% increase. This means fans are spending approximately six times more on basic stadium essentials than they did over a decade ago.
Concerns about these elevated prices have been voiced by international fans. "It's three times the cost of what I pay in my country," commented Thomas Schüller, a German engineer, regarding a $17 beer purchase in Toronto.
The survey calculated the cost of a standard game day meal, a signature stadium dish, a domestic beer, a snack, and a bottle of water at each of the 16 host stadiums to determine the rankings. Among the top five most expensive venues were Dallas Stadium ($70.70) and San Francisco Bay Area Stadium ($63.25), which had the priciest beer at $21.50.
On the other end of the spectrum, Atlanta Stadium offered the most affordable concessions, with an average total cost of $31.50. Fans could purchase a domestic beer for $5, the lowest price among all venues, along with a $3 water bottle and $3.50 chips. Vancouver's BC Place was the second most affordable at $45.52 on average, while MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, designated as New York/New Jersey Stadium, ranked third cheapest at $47.50 for a typical food and drink basket.
