British wildcard Arthur Fery secured a place in the Wimbledon fourth round after defeating Belgium's Zizou Bergs in a dramatic five-set match. Fery, who was outside the world's top 100 at the start of the tournament, overcame the challenge on Court 18 despite suffering three nosebleeds during the contest.
The 23-year-old eventually triumphed with a score of 2-6, 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (10-5). Fery had to recover from being a set and a break down on two separate occasions to secure the victory.
This win marks a significant achievement for Fery, making him the first British wildcard to reach the fourth round at Wimbledon since 1993. He had previously defeated Damir Dzumhur and Otto Virtanen in his initial two matches.
Following his hard-fought victory, Fery expressed his elation, stating, "No words for it, honestly. I don't know what is going on right now. It will take time to digest it." He is scheduled to play either Italy's Matteo Berrettini or Grigor Dimitrov in the next round.
