Roger Federer has reportedly advised Cruz Hewitt, the 17-year-old son of Australian tennis star Lleyton Hewitt, to keep his focus on his tennis career. The guidance comes after reports emerged earlier this year of Cruz spending time with Federer's twin daughters, Myla and Charlene, who are also 17.

Federer, a former world No. 1, is said to believe that Cruz has significant potential in the sport. An insider told New Idea magazine that Federer sat down with the young player to share insights on what it takes to succeed at the highest level. "Roger truly believes Cruz has got the potential to go all the way in the years ahead," the insider said. "Everyone knows how much respect Cruz has for Roger and that he looks up to him alongside his dad as a true legend of the game, if not the undisputed GOAT."

Federer emphasized the importance of dedication and sacrifice in professional tennis. "He's not sugarcoating some of his advice, as he truly believes that sacrifices are the name of the game," the insider added. "For all the talent in the world, Cruz is going to need to grit his teeth and buckle down if he wants to get to the top and stay there."

Cruz Hewitt is currently a rising talent in professional tennis, holding a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 354. He has been seen with Federer's daughters on several occasions, including at the US Open last month and the Australian Open in January. The trio also appeared together at Wimbledon.

Reports also suggest that Cruz is considering a move to Switzerland, where the Federer twins reside, partly to be closer to them and partly to advance his tennis career. However, his parents, Lleyton and Bec Hewitt, are reportedly concerned about potential distractions if he moves abroad, fearing it could impact his training.

Federer's advice centers on maintaining concentration on the court. The former champion, while acknowledging the immense pressure in professional tennis, is reportedly willing to share his experiences and offer guidance to the younger generation, seeing Cruz as a potential future star.
