Everton Striker's Home Burgled While Playing Cup Match

Everton striker Thierno Barry stated he was relieved his family was not home when his Greater Manchester residence was burgled while he was participating in a cup match. The incident occurred on Thursday while Barry was playing for Everton against Newcastle United in a Carabao Cup tie.

Barry, a 24-year-old French player, shared on Instagram that the situation could have been significantly worse if his partner and toddler had not been in the stands watching the game. He indicated that he would be more cautious about sharing details of his family life on social media in the future to avoid putting them at risk.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that an investigation into the burglary is underway.

Barry reflected on his openness about his family and personal life, acknowledging that it may have inadvertently increased their vulnerability. He recounted his own challenging childhood and his belief in the power of seizing opportunities, while also noting that some events in life are beyond individual control.
