Manchester United are reportedly close to appointing Eva Olid as their new women's manager, with the Spaniard expected to meet the squad on Wednesday. The move comes as the club finalizes her appointment following the mutual departure of Marc Skinner. Skinner left his role just a month before the start of the Women's Super League (WSL) season.
Olid departed Scottish club Hearts this summer after a successful tenure. She guided the Scottish Women's Premier League (SWPL) side to their first-ever league title in the previous campaign. Her time at Hearts, which began in 2021, also saw the team reach their first domestic final, although they were defeated by Rangers in the 2024 Scottish Cup. Under Olid, Hearts finished fourth in consecutive seasons before securing fifth place in the 2024-25 season. Last term, the team secured their historic silverware by finishing two points ahead of Rangers.
