ESPN reporter Lindsey Thiry faced an unexpected challenge during a live broadcast from the Los Angeles Rams' training camp on Thursday when a large beetle interrupted her report. The incident occurred as Thiry was preparing to go live from Loyola Marymount University.

The insect, described as a "giant beetle" by sources, flew into the frame and caused a moment of chaos. Thiry initially attempted to swat the bug away, but it persisted. She then used her microphone to try and dislodge it from her hair. After several seconds of struggle, Thiry managed to bat the beetle to the ground and successfully completed her report.

Back in the studio, ESPN's in-studio host Molly McGrath lightened the mood by showing a replay of the encounter, joking about the situation. Thiry humorously described the insect as "the biggest bug I’ve ever seen" and credited her own "hand-eye coordination" for resolving the situation.

This is not the first time a reporter in Los Angeles has dealt with an unexpected insect during a live broadcast this summer. KTLA's Rachel Menitoff previously encountered a flying cockroach during a live shot in July.
