Megan Pickford, wife of England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, marked the conclusion of England's World Cup campaign by hanging up her children's personalized football shirts after the team's 2-1 loss to Argentina.
The defeat, which occurred at Atlanta Stadium in Georgia, saw England eliminated from the tournament.
Megan Pickford described the moment as the "end of the dream" as she put away the shirts of her children, Arlo, seven, Ostara Haze, three, and Misty Celine, 15 months, each bearing the name "Daddy" on the back. Her own shirt also featured the name Pickford.
Other England players' partners, known as WAGs, were also seen consoling their partners in the stands. Megan Pickford appeared visibly upset, placing her hands on her head as the match concluded. Eberechi Eze's wife Naima Corbin and Ollie Watkins' wife Ellie were observed hugging their partners.
England initially took the lead with a goal from Anthony Gordon, assisted by Morgan Rogers. However, Argentina equalized through Enzo Fernández, and Lautaro Martínez scored the winning goal in stoppage time.
Harry Kane's wife Kate and Jude Bellingham's girlfriend Ashlyn Castro were also seen looking somber. Prior to the semi-final match, Megan and Ashlyn had been prominent in cheering on the team.
Megan had previously shared on social media seeking advice on her match-day outfits and posted a tribute to Jordan with their children cheering him on. Ellie Watkins also shared posts of her outfit before heading to the stadium.
Prince William, President of the Football Association, had congratulated the team on their previous quarter-final win.
During their time in the U.S., Megan Pickford also shared photos of a football-themed wallet she purchased for her husband.
