England's formidable Twenty20 form continued as they defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in Cardiff, securing the three-match series with one game remaining. Tom Banton's aggressive unbeaten 52 off 24 balls ensured England comfortably chased down a target of 146, reaching it in just 12.1 overs.
England's Dominant Chase
The home side's chase began briskly with an opening stand of 51 in 4.3 overs between Jos Buttler (30) and Aneurin Donald (21). Though both fell in quick succession, England's middle order maintained the aggressive approach. Sri Lanka's batting lineup faltered after a promising start. Pathum Nissanka top-scored with 37, but the team struggled to build partnerships, losing 9 wickets for 90 runs in the latter stages of their innings. They managed only two sixes in their entire innings, a stark contrast to England's ten. Several batters were caught attempting aggressive shots in an effort to find the boundary.

This victory extends England's impressive T20 record under their current leadership. Since the start of last summer, they have won 22 of their last 25 completed T20 matches, a win rate of 88%. The team remains unbeaten in the shortest format this summer, having also defeated India earlier in the year.
