Sean Carrington has inked a £550 tattoo on his calf that declares England will be World Cup winners in 2026. Carrington, who has a total of nine tattoos, most of which are family names, said he was excited to watch the upcoming match.

His tattoo artist, Jamie Taylor of Holy Trinity, expressed initial reservations, noting the permanence of the ink. "I did say to him that it's permanent and it can't wash off," Taylor said. "Not that I don't believe we can't win."

Carrington plans to watch the match at Manchester's Depot Mayfield fanzone. He predicted a "Three nil" victory for England in the upcoming game, with a final score of "2-1 on Sunday."

Social media reactions to the tattoo have been mixed, with some users criticizing it while others acknowledged the fan's bold commitment. One Instagram user commented, "Might possibly be the worst tattoo I've ever seen," while another wrote, "That's gonna be a story if we bottle it, great work nonetheless."

Carrington stated that if England does not win the trophy, he will add the words "only joking" to his tattoo. He was described as "the life and soul of the studio that day" by Taylor, who added, "I'm very happy we did it. I was unsure at first but he was adamant and to him it was a bit of fun and he would get it done anyway."
