El Grande Americano emerged victorious over Dominik Mysterio to claim the AAA Mega Championship in the main event of Triplemania 34. The championship match, held in Mexico City on Sunday, was a no-disqualification bout, allowing for the use of various weapons.

Mysterio initially gained the upper hand, utilizing a chair and a belt in the early stages of the contest. However, interference from JD McDonagh, a member of Mysterio's faction, The Judgment Day, briefly disrupted El Grande Americano's momentum. This led to an intervention from Los Americanos, who neutralized McDonagh.

The match saw further external involvement as Omos, who had won the Copa Bardahl earlier in the night, came to the ring to support Mysterio. Despite these efforts, El Grande Americano managed to avoid Omos's attack and landed two headbutts on Mysterio.

Liv Morgan also made an appearance, intervening to knock El Grande Americano off the top rope. Following this, Mysterio attempted his signature 619 and a frog splash, but El Grande Americano kicked out of the subsequent pin attempt.

In a turn of events, El Grande Americano accidentally struck an official with a headbutt. Mysterio then knocked El Grande Americano down with the Mega Championship belt, but his follow-up maneuver failed. El Grande Americano recovered and delivered a headbutt before going for the pin.

With the referee incapacitated, AAA general manager Rey Mysterio, wearing a neck brace, entered the ring and counted the pinfall, awarding the AAA Mega Championship to El Grande Americano. This victory marks a significant achievement for El Grande Americano, who overcame challenges including a feud with Dominik Mysterio and interference from multiple parties.
