Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Dustin May exited Wednesday night's game against the New York Mets after just one batter. May sustained an injury when he was hit by a line drive off the bat of A.J. Ewing in the first inning.

The ball, traveling at approximately 105 mph, struck May in the right shoulder/armpit area. Despite initially attempting to remain in the game, May was in visible discomfort and departed after throwing a few warmup pitches.

May, who was acquired from the Cardinals at the trade deadline, entered the game with a 6-8 record and a 4.57 earned run average for the Brewers, who currently hold the best record in Major League Baseball.
