Duke Football Player Involved in Altercation with Staffer Also Seen Swiping at Security Guard

Duke cornerback Kimari Robinson, who recently faced backlash for swiping at a female athletic staffer, was also captured on video engaging with a security guard a week prior to that incident. The earlier confrontation occurred before Duke's game against Georgia Tech on October 10.

In footage from that game, Robinson is seen exiting the field with his teammates. As he heads toward the tunnel, he appears to exchange words with a field staff member and then swiped his left hand in the direction of the individual, who may have been struck on the chin. The interaction was brief, lasting only a few seconds.

Robinson issued a public apology on Sunday night for his actions during Duke's loss to rival North Carolina on Saturday. During that game, he was seen swiping at a female staffer who was attempting to provide water to injured Duke safety DaShawn Stone. Stone was later removed from the field on a stretcher.

"I want to publicly apologize to the member of our training staff for how I acted toward her during Saturday's game," Robinson stated on X. "I was completely wrong, and she did not deserve that. Immediately after the game, I apologized to her personally and checked to make sure she was okay."

He added that his concern for Stone, whom he described as "like family," led to his reaction, but acknowledged that his worry did not excuse his behavior. "I should have controlled my emotions, and I didn't. I'm truly sorry for my actions and for letting her, myself and our program down. I have to be better than that."

Duke University has not yet released a public statement regarding either incident. As of Monday, there was no immediate update on the condition of DaShawn Stone.
