Ben Duckett's unbeaten half-century led Trent Rockets to a convincing nine-wicket win against Welsh Fire in Cardiff, securing their second victory in three matches in this season's Hundred competition.

Chasing a target of 123 on a challenging two-paced wicket at Sophia Gardens, the Rockets reached 126 for one in just 72 balls. Duckett anchored the chase with a composed 52 not out off 45 deliveries, marking his seventh fifty in the history of the competition. He was supported by Finn Allen, who contributed a rapid 33 off 19 balls. Their opening partnership of 75 runs laid a strong foundation for the victory.

Tom Banton added a quick, unbeaten 31 from 15 balls as the Rockets comfortably surpassed the target with 28 balls to spare. The win completed a successful day for the Trent Rockets, as their women's team also secured a comfortable victory over Welsh Fire earlier.

Welsh Fire, batting first, were restricted to 122-7 in their 100 balls. Early wickets fell to Matt Henry, who dismissed Phil Salt and Joe Root for single-figure scores. Matt Short was the standout batter for the home side, scoring 36 off 26 balls. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner took three wickets for 35 runs, including the dismissal of Rachin Ravindra. Jordan Cox provided some late aggression with a 33 off 16 balls, which included three consecutive sixes off Santner before being dismissed by the same bowler.
