Dubois and Wardley Weigh In Heaviest for Rematch

Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley have both reached their career-heaviest weights ahead of their highly anticipated heavyweight world-title rematch on Saturday in London.

With a combined 41 knockouts from 43 professional victories, the pair are not expected to let the contest go the distance.

Wardley, who was defeated by Dubois five months ago in Manchester, appeared with a cut across the bridge of his nose that had reopened. The injury, first sustained during his 2024 draw with Frazer Clarke, had left his face swollen and bloodied after the Dubois fight. This punishment has led to questions about the timing of his decision to pursue an immediate rematch, though Wardley remains confident in his ability to reverse the outcome, stating, "It's simply seek and destroy now."

Promoter Frank Warren anticipates a significant year for the heavyweight division in 2027, with lucrative opportunities awaiting the winner of Saturday's bout. Major fights on the horizon include Tyson Fury's upcoming bout with Anthony Joshua in Cardiff on December 11, and the return of British prospect Itauma in January following his world-title loss to Hrgovic.

While there is currently no contractual clause for a third fight between Dubois and Wardley, Warren suggested that a trilogy could become a possibility if Wardley avenges his sole professional defeat. "If that happens it's a natural fight," Warren commented. "That's what's so intriguing about this. Who will they fight next year? We want to find out who is the best."
