Drew McIntyre Remains Focused on Hollywood Projects Amid WWE Return Speculation
The Scottish Warrior is prioritizing acting roles over a definitive return to the wrestling ring.
Drew McIntyre, the Scottish professional wrestler, is currently prioritizing his burgeoning acting career over an immediate return to the WWE ring. His last appearance in WWE was at WrestleMania 42, participating in an unsanctioned street fight against Jacob Fatu. It has been nearly six months since that match.
During this hiatus, McIntyre has been involved in other projects, including a micro-drama series titled "Agent of Shadows," which also features actor Chase Mattson and other WWE superstars. The series is scheduled for release on October 23.
When asked about his return to wrestling by OutKick Dropkick, McIntyre stated he is currently "focused on Hollywood Drew." He noted his physical condition, reporting a weight of 285 pounds and being in the best shape of his life. He shared a video of himself training on ropes, which garnered significant social media attention.
While McIntyre's return to WWE programming is anticipated, the specific brand he will join remains unclear. He was last seen on SmackDown, engaged in a feud with Fatu, and briefly held the Undisputed WWE Championship before losing it to Cody Rhodes in March. Reports from WrestleVotes Radio suggest McIntyre might return to the Raw brand upon his in-ring comeback.
The current WWE championship landscape includes Sami Zayn holding the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown, with several contenders vying for a title shot. On Raw, Roman Reigns holds the World Heavyweight Championship. Additionally, Penta won the men's Money in the Bank ladder match, granting him a future title opportunity at his discretion.
Fans continue to await McIntyre's return to the wrestling ring.
