MLB insider Buster Olney has issued a stark warning to the rest of the league regarding the Los Angeles Dodgers' current World Series run, suggesting their best performances are yet to come. Olney expressed his confidence in the Dodgers to win the 2026 World Series on ESPN's "First Take."

Despite facing challenges, including injuries to key players like Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow, and an inconsistent performance from offseason acquisition Kyle Tucker, the Dodgers are maintaining a strong trajectory. They are currently on pace for 101 wins and hold a significant 11.5-game lead in the National League West. Olney highlighted that the team's success has occurred even with these setbacks, indicating a high potential for improvement.

"The team to beat. I think the best of the Dodgers is yet to come," Olney stated. "After slow-playing these injuries, get Edwin Díaz and other guys back. They’re going to be a great team by the time we get to October."

The Dodgers are aiming for their third consecutive World Series championship. Their resilience in overcoming injuries has been a notable aspect of their season. Even with the struggles of pitcher Roki Sasaki, whose 5.33 ERA has not hindered the team, the Dodgers have secured the National League's best record at 61-36 heading into the second half of the season. Reinforcements are anticipated to return soon.

The team's front office may also bolster the roster before the trade deadline. A potential acquisition of Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal is seen as a move that could make an already formidable team even more intimidating to its competitors.

Shohei Ohtani is expected to return for the Dodgers' upcoming series against the New York Yankees, further strengthening the lineup.
