Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages exited Friday night's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates after being struck in the left hand by a 100.2 mph sinkerball from Pirates pitcher Bubba Chandler.
The incident occurred in the bottom of the third inning. Pages, 25, initially appeared unfazed and attempted to play through the pain, walking to first base after being hit and insisting to manager Dave Roberts and a trainer that he was fine.
He then took the field defensively for the top of the fourth inning. However, by the start of the fifth inning, Kiké Hernández had taken over in center field, and Pages headed to the clubhouse for further evaluation. No immediate information on the severity of Pages' injury or his prognosis was available.
