Dodgers' Max Muncy Calls Team's Play 'S---' After NLCS Game 3 Loss

Max Muncy, third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers, did not mince words when describing his team's performance following a 6-2 defeat to the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series. The loss put the Dodgers in a daunting 3-0 hole in the series.

"It’s a pretty simple answer. We’re playing like s---, they’re playing great. As simple as that," Muncy told reporters after the game at Dodger Stadium. This blunt assessment came after the Dodgers suffered their third consecutive loss in the NLCS.

Muncy, an All-Star, is among several key Dodgers players experiencing a postseason slump. He is currently batting .190 (4-for-21) in the series, though three of his hits have been home runs. However, all of those home runs occurred during the NLDS. In the NLCS, the team has struggled to deliver timely hits, batting just 3-for-32 with runners in scoring position.

The Dodgers briefly took a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning when catcher Will Smith hit a ball off the wall, driving in two runs. However, the Brewers' bullpen quickly shut down further scoring opportunities. Milwaukee then extended their lead in the seventh inning with a two-run home run from Jake Bauers and a solo shot from Garrett Mitchell, ultimately securing the 6-2 victory.

With this loss, the Dodgers' aspiration of reaching a third consecutive World Series appears increasingly distant. The team will face elimination in Game 4, looking to avoid a sweep by the Brewers.
