Novak Djokovic emerged victorious at the China Open, claiming the 102nd title of his career and marking a significant milestone as the oldest man to win a tour-level title since Ken Rosewall in 1977. This latest triumph places Djokovic one trophy away from second place on the all-time titles list, currently held by Roger Federer, with Jimmy Connors leading with 109 titles.

Djokovic's path to the final in Beijing included a semi-final walkover against Daniil Medvedev and a final where opponent Alex de Minaur retired hurt while trailing 7-6, 1-0. Despite these circumstances, Djokovic showcased strong play throughout the tournament, extending his unbeaten streak in Beijing to 34 matches. "This trophy means much more than one trophy, one tournament," Djokovic stated, reflecting on his success at a venue where he has never lost.

Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner has announced the end of his season due to a persistent knee injury. Sinner, who has not competed since winning Wimbledon, stated the need to prioritize his long-term career. "Me together with the doctors have decided that I need a course of treatment for my knee," he said. "I will do everything possible to get back 100 percent."

In other tour news, Carlos Alcaraz secured his first silverware since returning from injury, winning the Tokyo final 7-6, 6-4 against Jiri Lehecka. Alcaraz described the victory as "extra special after my injury," signaling his return to form after a five-month layoff due to a wrist injury.
