During the first round of Wimbledon on Monday, a fan proposed to his girlfriend in the stands at Center Court shortly after Novak Djokovic won the first set of his match against Wu Yibing. Djokovic, the seventh seed, noticed the proposal and acknowledged the moment.

Upon returning to the court for the second set, Djokovic made a heart gesture toward the couple, offered two thumbs up, and humorously asked to be invited to the wedding. "I want an invitation for the wedding," Djokovic shouted with a grin as the couple returned his gesture with beaming smiles.

Djokovic went on to win the match 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4, advancing to the second round. The 39-year-old Serbian player is a seven-time Wimbledon champion, with his most recent title in 2022. He holds a record 24 Grand Slam singles titles among male players and is pursuing a record-setting 25th. Djokovic is also one title away from tying Roger Federer's record for the most Wimbledon men's singles titles.

His path in the tournament may be less contested this year, as two-time champion Carlos Alcaraz is sidelined due to injury. Djokovic is scheduled to face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round, a matchup he has historically dominated with a 12-2 record.
