Derek Jeter Advises Brewers to Avoid Deflation After World Series Game 4 Loss

Despite a heartbreaking 4-3 loss in 12 innings to the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 4 of the World Series, Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy stressed the importance of not letting the defeat deflate the team. Five-time World Series champion Derek Jeter echoed Murphy's sentiment, advising the Brewers to maintain their confidence heading into Game 5.

"If you’re the Brewers, you can’t allow this to deflate you, because if someone told you in spring training you’d be up three games to one in the World Series with your ace on the mound, the best pitcher in all of baseball on the mound, they would all take it," Jeter said, reflecting on the team's strong overall performance in the series.

Murphy acknowledged the Rays' resilience, stating, "It’s going to be hard. You’re playing the best team in the American League. They proved it all year long, and they came up big today. When you’re achieving something like this, it’s going to have its adversity."

The Brewers currently hold a 3-1 lead in the series, with Game 5 scheduled for Wednesday. Murphy confirmed that Jacob Misiorowski is slated to start on the mound for the Brewers, and indicated that the team would need "all hands on deck" for the potential series-clinching game.

Jeter suggested that both clubhouses should feel optimistic. "You’ve got two clubhouses that are feeling pretty good coming in tomorrow night," he remarked, highlighting the psychological aspect of the championship series.
